Class, We covered a lot of material today in a short window and I realize it may have been a lot to digest. If you're stomach is still bubbling from the onslaught of google apps, please refer to the course wiki, module 3 for tutorials and student samples of projects/lessons using these tools. Here is a quick overview of some of the things we covered today: 1. Calendar - Can be shared just like a google document. If you want the world to see, it make sure to make it public (see the Calendar tutorial for how to do this). 2. Maps - Create tours by dropping in placemarks (don't forget to use the edit mode). Grab the little orange person icon and drop him on a building to move to street view or peer inside famous landmarks like the White House. 3. Photos/Picasa - Upload your photos via your computer or get the iOS or Android app to do it from your phone or tablet. Once in Picasa, you can put them on a website or order them from Walgreens (or another photo site). 4. Sites - See the screencast tutorial at the bottom of the wiki page for a step by step guide of how to complete this. We did not really have time to adequately complete this in class. The screencast goes through a few more things and you can rewind it as many times as you need. When using the student section of this site, make sure to click "Sign-In" at the bottom of the page before you start. |
